Nordic Snowflake Keychain ::: Classy, Quirky Gift Idea

Aki is back with a simple, customizable, beautiful gift idea and I think you are going to LOVE it!

Without further adieu...
It seems like it was just the start of the year - and now, it's almost Christmas. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of the year - too many things to do, too little time, parties, gifts to make, gifts to buy... there's just so many things to do this time of the year! Not to mention the weather. I also have a love/hate relationship with the weather - but I love watching how snow falls. I love snowflake patterns as well - more so the nordic-inspired ones you see on ugly sweaters. I've made a nordic snowflake template to share with you so you can make this keychain too!

  • Shrink plastic
  • Box cutter/X-acto knife
  • Snowflake template
  • Spray paint
  • Keychain ring with Lobster clasp

This project is so easy! Let's get started...

First, cut your shrink plastic using the template design. I used my die-cutting machine,
but since it's mainly a design with a lot of corners, it'll be a pretty simple project with an x-acto knife or a box cutter.

Bake according to your package directions - mine got slightly misshapen in the process
(more oval than round) but no sweat - this design is very forgiving.

Spray paint with your color of choice - of course, mine is gold as always - and attach to your keychain ring. Voila!

Make a ton as a stocking stuffer, or even as gift embellishments.
You can even use the template to make your own ugly sweater!

What do you love about this season? Don't forget to check out my blog for more simple projects like this!

Ugly sweater?  I think not~~  This design is too too pretty for it to ever be ugly :)  I adore this Aki and want to make a boatload of them!
Gift topper/gifts that are gender neutral, inexpensive and easy to customize?  Perfect!
