Get Down on the Floor...

One of my goals is to get down on the floor more often. No, not to pick up the crumbs...I'm down there plenty wiping up dirty boy messes. In fact, if you look closely enough at the photos, you'll see a plethora of dirt. So, perhaps I should vow to get down on the floor and clean more often.

In reality, I want to get down on the floor more often with my boys on their level to play. So what started out as this 10 by 10 PROJECT turned into a documentary of the view from down under. Under babies...don't be gross.

The first thing I noticed is that perhaps it isn't the BOYS' shoes taking up so much space b the door...
He was building a campfire...
...and these are all the Stu shots because he *actually* remained pretty stationary...
This one on the other hand....not so much...
...the aftermath...
...and because this is a little scary when you are going down to the basement...

It makes me feel better thar right now as i'm typing on a our laptop in the living room that i have a spray bottle, and a headband and a tube of toothpaste under my arms. :-) I love how you can see the paci ring hanging from the top of the photo of H bending over. That's cute!!

I so agree with you that Elmo is just a tad bit scary. He reminds of that USPS fits it ships commercial with the clown that moved and scared even the mailman. What is it about something so cute, that is in the wrong place and it's smiling at you that creeps us out????

Girl, you got guts posting your floors... oh well, you got kids and should be with them instead of cleaning all the time, right? They grow up way too fast!

agreed elmo freaks me out! Quick photo question for you. The pic with elmo, that is your basement correct? No natural light? How did you get the light so white and not that yucky yellow color most inside shots get?? I am dying to know!!

Hey Sarah :)

You're right...no natural light...very dark down there...I ramped up my ISO (prob around 800) and dialed up the exposure compensation (+/- button on the top by your shutter) high, like 2.0 or higher.

To adjust your ISO, you go to your camera settings and it should be there. On a DSLR the exposure comp button is near the shutter button and you hold it down while spinning the large dial. I should do a post...exposure can sound confusing, but it isn't really...

anyway...if you look closely, Elmo isn't as sharp as he should be because of camera shake. Even with those settings, the camera had to open the shutter quite slowly, so I had to brace my elbows on the floor and not breathe while taking the photo to get it as clear as possible.

For the white vs. yellow, one reason is because I did use the little bit of natural light from the top of the stairs instead of turning on a light.

longest. comment. ever.
