I'm doing a couple bloggy friend connect things this week that I thought y'all might be interested in.  The first is the bold and the beautiful over at Meghan's.  Basically, you invite sweet blogger ladies to come check out your blog and give you gentle critique on what could be improved.   Check it out HERE!

Please take a look around my blog, check out the layout, pages, buttons,  sidebar and gadgets. I would love for you to gently critique my blog. I’m hoping you will leave me some positive feedback about my blog. It would be great if you could give me constructive criticism but be sure to tell me what you like about my blog too! Do you like my pictures? Does my blog load quickly for you? How about the font?  All tips and tidbits welcome!

You are welcome to join the party, it starts Thursday night and is open for a week.

The other fun bloggy link-up I'm participating in is at Life of Meg.  She is organizing a little gift giving party for Valentine's day.  You simply comment with a few of your favorites and she will link you up with a blogger friend.  Price cap is $15 on the gift.  Check it out HERE!

Hi just came to you blog from the linky party just wanted to say what an interesting blog I love all your money saving ideas you are a woman after my own heart! it proves that you dont need to spend stupid amounts of money to get a beautiful home and I always think you get much more out of it if you have taken time to create it yourself rather than just going to the shops, keep up the good work! Im going to steal your laptop cooler if you dont mind Im always thinking thats a problem, as for your blog I find white a little bright but thats just me I know other like it. I really like info on left hand side instead of right and the fact that you have lots of photo's
you didnt put up the linky buttons so if you want to check out my blog you can find it at https://buttercupandbee.blogspot.com

I think your blog is great! I like the contents - you are very creative! You showcase very creative projects, and I could really feel your enthusiasm in your projects.

AS for your blog design, i like that yours has:
1 - a white background; and
2 - easy to read well-sized fonts in good colors
3 - no music coming on!

Here are my suggestions:
1 - I think your blog will benefit if you use a fixed width, so that you will be more in control of the format of your contents.
2 - I think your sidebar widget 'What bloggy friends had to say' is dragging your blog down. It's too long and some of the links are outdated - from 2 to 10 months ago.

Hi!
I'm coming from the party as well!
I really like your content and the information at the top. I did notice that your Facebook linkup is on the side twice. I clicked on a few of your links from the navi bar and I really like the organization. I'm a FAN of organization :)

Hello my dear! I am thrilled that you linked up to our little party. I really am smitten with your blog. I love that you are a lefty. :) All the elements are so well composed and the blog is super easy on the eyes. You have such perfection in your little blog. Some gentle suggestions...when bloggers leave comments, it is always nice to have the comment be within the post so they can refer back to what brilliant or fabulous idea you have created. I always end up opening a 2nd window as a reference, and these can be easily fixed for the convenience of your followers. I would also like to suggest moving your followers up right under you. For me...once I get an idea of what you are all about and then decide to follow, I do not like having to search. Lastly, you might want to minimize the amount of material amid the popular posts and the what bloggy friends have to say. Because time is of the essence...the title and the picture usually suffice in creating intrigue. Just a thought to make your fabulous world even more fabulous. Once again these are just gentle thoughts. I know that taking a risk and putting yourself out there is very scary, but you should feel so proud and empowered. I hope that you are not a no-reply when dealing with comments. I always love being able to respond to my bloggers. Also...if you need anything, Gail and I would love to help. Just let us know what we can do. :)

Have a great finish to the weekend, and I hope this is the beginning of seeing more of you in little blog world. :)

Cheers~

I like the clean layout of your blog. I often wonder why some people have their side bar on the right and others on the left? are you by chance a leftie? Just curious.
I like your about me being right up top.
I recommend that you have your links open in a new window so that you keep your visitors on your page and they don't have to hit the back button to try to find you again.
I can tell you how if you'd like, write me an email.
I also suggest that you subscribe to your comments if you don't already.
I hope that you have your email attached too your profile so that you are not a no-reply blogger.
great pictures! super content! nice nav bar. I enjoyed my visit!

ps I also recommend you do away with word verification, if only on a trial basis. just sayin'

Hey! I just came over from the blog hop! Thanks for the nice comments and suggestions! I love the layout and I like how you have popular posts lined up at the side so they are easy to find! The margins are a bit wide-but that's not necessarily a bad thing:).

Hi there.
So, I've really enjoyed looking around your little web home here. Your photography is beautiful, and your writing is smart and witty. I love that! The only suggestion that I have right now is about your sidebars. You mentioned on my blog that you liked my width. I think that you have room to grown here. Maybe increase the size of your posting area and shrink the width of your sidebars. It would give your beautiful photography even more room to shine and still allow room for your sidebar content. Anywho, that's all I've got. I love everything else. Very clean and crisp. A highly enjoyable read.

p.s. I Adore the IKEA wood message board, and your new "granite" countertops! Awesome finds!

Overall great work! I will totally be a new follower! Love all of your great ideas! The only thing I find is that your blog does run a bit slow... Don't really know what would cause that! I'm no blogging genious! Hope that helps!
